Maharashtra Day Celebrations
The 1st of May is celebrated as Maharashtra Day as well as International Labour’s Day. All Maharashtrians irrespective of their caste, creed, religion or colour are equally excited because it marks the day when Maharashtra attained statehood. It was on this day that the state eventually developed into a culturally enriched, socially improved, economically powerful and commercially commanding state.
At Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa, Maharashtra Day was celebrated traditionally with the flag hoisting ceremony followed by the National Anthem. The chief guest for the day was Mr. G. K. Shahani. All the Teaching and Non-Teaching staff witnessed this event.
The programme concluded with a stirring speech given by the chief guest Mr. G.K.Shahani about his idea and dream for future Maharashtra which inspired the audience to take Maharashtra state to the new heights.
Investiture Ceremony
An important event awaited by students of Sinhgad City School was the Investiture Ceremony. It began with a warm welcome by the Sports master; followed by Investiture Ceremony. The badges were then awarded to the Primary Section by Primary Supervisor; then to the Secondary Section Captains, Head Boy & Head Girl of the School by the Principal, last but not the least the Vice Captains were awarded badges by Secondary Supervisor. Then the Head Boy & Head Girl took the Oath and the Captains repeated the Oath after them. This was followed by an encouraging speech by the Principal who guided & congratulated the Badge holders along with a thank you speech by the Sports Master.
Independence Day
15th August 2019, the 73rd Independence day was celebrated in Sinhgad City School with great enthusiasm to pay tribute to the great sacrifices of all the freedom fighters. Respected Mr.G.K.Sahani the founder member, hoisted the flag and delivered a speech to motivate the audience to keep up the patriotism and love for the country.
Road Safety Program
A Road safety Program was conducted by ‘J & K Events’ on 20th August 2019. Posters, Pictures and Safety Rule hand books were used to discuss and display the importance of traffic rules.
Fancy Dress Competition
Sinhgad City School organised a fancy dress competition for Std I to IV. The students were dressed up nicely in various characters. The Art and Craft teachers of the school judged the students and declared the winners. The Fancy dress competition was an amazing reflection of the creativity and art

Eco club : Medicinal Plants Plantation
Sinhgad City School launched the planting of medicinal plants as an eco-club activity in its sprawling premises on 7th September 2018. Students of std. IV,V & VI took part in it quite enthusiastically. They planted the saplings on their own and took a pledge to take care of them. About 13 species of medicinal plants including insulin plant (Costus igneus), jamun (Syzygium cumini), ajwain(Trachyspermum ammi), aloevera (Aloe barbadensis), china rose (Hibiscus sabdariffa), neem(Azadirachta indica), tulsi (Osimum tenuiflorum)etc. were planted. This activity aimed at inculcating the value of preservation and protection of nature especially medicinal plants.
Swachata Pakhwada
Swachata Pakhwada programme was conducted in school for 15 days. Various activities were conducted that is Swacchata Rally, Assembly on Importance of handwash, Presentation on personal hygene etc.
German Day Celebration
German day was celebrated in Sinhgad City School with great enthusiasm by the students of standard Std VIII , IX and X studying German at school.
The venue , seminar hall was decorated with the posters and charts giving information about Germany and the German language. Informative and interesting PPT related to the same was shown to the audience. The students won the hearts of the audience with their brilliant performances of dances and skit in German language. Principal Dr Mrs Anuradha Iyer appreciated and congratulated the students and their mentor Miss Anupama.
Sanskrit Day
Sinhgad City School not only takes the initiative to teach the languages but also takes steps to develop and appreciate the language. Sankrit being the ancient language of our country and the mother of all Indian languages is taught with utmost dedication and as a result of it, “Sanskrit Diwas”, was observed on “Shravan Purnima” with great enthusiasm. The program started with the lightening of the “Deepak” of the idol of “Maa Saraswati “, by Principal Madam, Dr Mrs.Anuradha Iyer. The students presentation of the Sanskrit Shloks, Sanskrit songs and skit were amazing, which left the audience spell bound. The fluency and control over the language on the part of the students, surprised the audience, leaving a mark of respect for the teacher and the taught.

Bakri Id
Bakri Id Assembly was conducted in SCS on 25th August to celebrate Id and to convey the holy message of God. A Group of students went around the entire school to wish ‘Id Mubarak’.
Yoga Day
Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa school celebrated Yoga Day on 20/06/18 and 21/06/18. It was well arranged in the first two periods for the Primary and Secondary Section . The session began with Omkar followed by Prayers, Asanas and Meditation. The session got over by the inspiring speech of the Honourable Principal who made students understand how Yoga helps in discipline of the body and the mind.
Ramzan Eid
Sinhgad City School celebrated Ramzan Eid in the school by reciting the Holy Verse from Holy Quran which was translated by a student. It was then followed by importance of Ramzan, Fasting and Five pillars of Islam. Later, a religious song was sung by Mr Tausif Khan for Ramzan Eid. The program concluded by the inspirational speech of Principal Ma’am who wished “Eid Mubarak” to the entire school.

He was accompanied by the Principal of Sinhgad City School Mrs. Anuradha Iyer and the Supervisor Mrs. Anjali Subhand and Mrs. Ratna Haryal. All the Teaching and Non-Teaching staff witnessed this event.
A group of teachers sang a melodious song, “ He Shivasundar Samarshalini” which depicted the glory and grandeur of Maharashtra. The whole programme was anchored by Mrs. Prachi Kulkarni.

Hindi Divas
Hindi Divas was celebrated in Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa on 29th September 2017. Hindi Divas is as important as any other Indian festival. It was the 68th Anniversary of the Language Hindi for declaration as Raj Bhasha or National Language. The aim of the competition was to know the history of Hindi as a National Language. It also inculcates respect and importance about the National Language which unites the entire nation.
Sanskrit Day
Sanskrit is the mother of all languages and to inculcate the love for this ancient literary treasure Sanskrit Day was celebrated on 31st August 2017 in Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa. The program started by ‘Pooja’ performed by Supervisor of secondary section. Then shloks were recited in Sanskrit by the students of Std 6 and 7th. Std 8th students sang a song in Sanskrit which was mesmerising. It was then followed by 7th Std group song performance. The aim of this program was to develop interest in Sanskrit Language and make it part of the legacy and heritage of the young generation of India. The program concluded with a thought provoking skit by the students of Std 8th and 9th.
Hindi Poetry Competition
Poems for our budding Hindi poets were presented with great precision for the recitation competition organised on 21st August 2017 for Std 7th and 8th by the Hindi Teachers of the school. The program was judged by the Senior Teacher of Hindi Subject. It was then appreciated by the Supervisor of Secondary Section followed by her inspiring words. The program concluded with the vote of thanks. The aim of the competition was to create love for the National Language.
German Day
India is a secular country and has always embraced new cultures and languages. Keeping this value in mind German Day was celebrated by the Teachers and students on 29th August 2017 of Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa. The program began with a classical dance performed by students to worship Lord Ganesha. The Chief Guest for the day were Mr. Chakra from Max Muller and Miss Hanna from Germany who were then felicitated with gifts and bouquets. A beautiful song “ Ich bin Schnapii ” was sung by the students followed by a skit on “ Our daily German period”. The program then became more interesting when Power Point presentations were displayed about the inventions of Germany and famous monuments in Germany. The environment grew lively by a song called “ Lieblingsmensch” and a comic Tongue Twister. Few more PPTs were displayed about “ Oktober Fest” in Germany, Ganesh Utsav in India and of our Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa student Divya Ganeshwala who shared her experience in Germany. It was followed by a dance, skit and an anecdote in German Language. The guests showed PPTs on industrial areas of Germany followed by an interaction session between the Chief Guest and students. The program concluded with the delicious Germany recipes made by the students for the Chief Guests and the Teachers.
Independence Day
As every year, this year too Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2017 in a well disciplined and organised manner. The program began with the Flag Hoisting by the honourable Chief Guest Mr. G.K Shahani Sir. Later the Chief Guest was felicitated by the school Principal with a bouquet of flowers. The program was then enhanced by Prize Distribution Ceremony of the SSC successors of 2016-17. The Chief Guest praised the SSC students and delivered a motivating speech for the young minds of the school. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by the students.

Palkhi
Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa organised a small Palkhi celebration by the students in the school on 03/07/17. The celebration began with the information about Palkhi celebration in Maharashtra. A secondary students group sang bhajans & then the Palkhi procession went around the school campus with melodious bhajans at the background. The celebration concluded with the Abhangas sung by students.
Vyaspournima/ Gurupournima Celebration
On 14/07/17 Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa celebrated Gurupournima. The program began by reciting a holy Shlok by a student followed by its explanation. Then the school Principal was invited for the Guru Pooja. The meaning of Vyaspournima or Gurupournima was explained to the students. Later a student imparted significance of Gurupournima in Sanskrit language. The program continued by reciting a Hindi shlok which was dedicated to all the Gurus or Teachers of the school. Then the choir students sung a devotional song. Principal Madam gave the significance of Guru in a student’s life on this divine day. The program concluded with the vote of thanks.
Republic Day
‘A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people’.
Our country India celebrates the Republic day every year to honour the date when the constitution of India came into force. On 26th of Jan in 1950 our country was declared as a sovereign, secular, socialistic and democratic Republic, means people of India had the power to govern the country themselves.
On 26th Jan, 2017 we celebrated our 68th Republic Day. The programme started with welcoming the chief guest Mr. M B Khurjekar Sir, Director Central Placement Cell. The Chief guest then unfurled our national flag and witnessed the march past parade by the RSP and MCF girls and boys contingent. Our respected principal madam Mrs. Smita Savant felicitated our chief guest Mr. M. B. Khurjekar Sir.A thought provoking speech was given by the chief guest which motivated everyone. After the speech we all saw a daredevil stunt of our motorcycle riders which really made every one proud. Prize distribution ceremony was held where the international, state and MCF level winners were awarded with trophies and medals by our chief guest. Later on a very patriotic cultural programme was showcased where the students of std 3rd, 6th, 7th and 8th danced on patriotic songs and filled the environmnet with joy.

Annual Gathering
Guru Pournima
Guru Pournima is of great importance in relation to a Guru and disciple. On this day a disciple, according to his capacity, gives service and offerings to his guru. A Guru or teacher has to be always remembered, by the students. In the modern times this inter-relationship of a guru and disciple, has lost its traditional value. However the tiny tots of Sinhgad City celebrated Guru Pournima with lots of love and affection. The children presented a class assembly depicting the story of Guru Dronacharya and Eklavya. The children brought flowers and presented it them to their teachers’ as a token of love and affection and respect.

1) Z.P. Inter School District Wrestling Tournament 2018, Privithiraj Tupe, under 14 boys, free style, below 60 kg, bagged gold medal, and has been selected for Z. P. Zonal wrestling tournament at solapur 2018.
2) “Judo Winner Team” in ZP Inter School Judo Tournament 2018, held at Shivaji Mandir Judo Hall, Sadashiv Peth, Pune
3)Raviraj Ghorpade : Std VI Student Won bronze Medal at the State Level Judo Competition
4) ’Rushabh Yadav’, Std IX , Bagged Gold Medal Below 66 Kg (Under 17, Boys), at ZP District Level Judo Tournament 2018, held at Shivaji Mandir, Sadashiv Peth, Pune. He has also got Bronze Medal in ZP Interschool Zonal Tournament Held at Ahmednagar
5) Dodgeball Girls team were in Semi Finals, in Zilla Parishad Competition
6)Throwball U17 Boys team, got third Place in Zilla Parishad Competition
7)Throwball U14 Girls team got fourth Place and Even U17 Boys Team got Third Place in Zilla Parishad Competition

Hindi Recitation
A Hindi Recitation Competition was conducted in SCS on 21st August 2018. The students of all the divisions of Std IX had taken part in the competition. The first round was conducted in the classes, out of which three best participants were selected from each division, for the final round.
The program started with an emotional tribute to Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The selected participants mesmerised the audience with their poems and their superb style of reciting. The following students were declared the winners.

Quiz Competition
Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa had organized a Quiz Competition on 29/06//18. For the classes of Std.IX and X respectively. There were five rounds based on five areas like general knowledge , social science , mathematics , entertainment and Literature. The aim of the competition was to aid students to explore their knowledge in the above fields. The students took part with great enthusiasm . The audience too enjoyed the show. The competition concluded with the inspiring and motivating words of Principal M’aam .

Debate Competition
Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa has always inculcated a positive spirit of competition among the students. Recently the Competition organized by the school was, the Debate Competition which was held on 16th February 2018 for the classes III to VIII. The competition had two rounds i.e,Representation Round and Rebuttal Round and it was judged by the Principal and the Supervisor of the school. The topics for the Competition were as follows:
Class III- Television is better than a book.
Class IV- Is internet good or bad.
Class V- Is working mother helpful for the society or not.
Class VI- Indoor games are better than outdoor games.
Class VII- Is today’s cinema worth viewing by the children.
Class VIII- Is peer pressure more beneficial than harmful.
The aim of the competition was to encourage the use of debating as a learning tool for the students to develop their cognitive and language abilities. The competition was concluded by the inspiring words of the Principal.

Sinhgad City School Kondhwa arranged a Debate Competition on 11th October for Std IX and X . The topic for Std IX was ‘Brain drain- A Bane on Indian economy’ and for Std X the topic was ‘Demonetization has boosted India’s economic status’. In the first round the students presented their topic and the second round was the rebuttal in which the students cited reasons and supported them with suitable examples from real life, to justify their stand. The winners were selected on the basis of content, organization of points, usage of correct language, confidence and voice modulation. The aim of the competition was to develop the oratory skills, present your argument, challenge other’s opinions and make their voice heard.

Fancy Dress
Fancy Dress Competition was held in Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa on 9th October 2017 for standard I to IV. The themes were fruits, animals, cartoon characters, professionals, national leaders etc. Children enjoyed participating and dressing colourfully. The dressing and participation of the students were extremely praise worthy. The purpose of conducting this competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the little ones to see themselves dressed up differently.

SPORTS DAY 17-18
Sports Day an annual celebration in Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa was held on 17th November 2017. The enthusiastic students and the pleasant weather was the perfect blend for the sports day. The programme began by lighting the torch and oath taken by the participants followed by the scintillating performance given by the students of the school band for the opening of the sports meet. Students of primary section show-cased their talent and flexibility through Yoga. There were different races for Primary section on one hand and for secondary section on the other hand. Students performed well with true sportsmanship. Non participants were very enthusiastic to cheer their house participants and also boosted their confidence with encouraging words. The programme ended with vote of thanks.
Spell-O-Fun
Spell-O-Fun competition was conducted for Std I and II on 9th October 2017 in Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa. The purpose of the competition was to give a platform to all the students to test their verbal, written and analytical skills. It was designed to bridge the gap in their learning process. It’s aim was to improve their spelling skill and vocabulary.

Cricket
In International Cricket competition our boys under 14 cricket team won two matches against J.N.Petit school and Muktanan school and reched till 3rd round. In boys under 17 Cricket team won first match against Panditrao Agshe school in which Atharva Kamthe of std X took three wickets in three balls(Hattrick) and took our school to winning glory.

In International Football competition our boys under 14 football team won against Ramanbaug School in which Umar Jahangir did excellent job and reached the second round.

English Recitation Competition – Std I & II
English Poetry Recitation was organised by Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa for the budding orators of Std I & II on 18th July 2017, for Std III & IV 19/07/17, for Std V 21/07/17, for Std VI on 28/07/17 . The little ones recited the poems in an outstanding manner. The aim of the competition was to develop the intonation, pronunciation, appreciation for good literature & for building confidence in the students. The competition was well concluded by the Principal of the school encouraging the students.
Marathi Recitation Competiton – Std VII & VIII
Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa organised Marathi Recitation Competition on 31/07/17 for Std VII & VIII. The students were free to select any topic for the competition. So, the topics selected by the students were worth appreciating. Students recited the poems with great enthusiasm. The program was well executed by the Principal, the Teachers & the students. The aim of the program was to learn new Marathi vocabulary words, learn & understand pitch, voice intonation & to develop self confidence. The program concluded with the encouraging words of the school Principal.
World International Yoga Day – “Healthy Educators make Healthy Learners”
Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa school celebrated Yoga Day on 21/06/17 Wednesday. It was well arranged in 1st two periods for the Primary section and 3rd and 4th period for the Secondary section. The session began with Omkar followed by Prayers, Asanas and Meditation. The session got over by the inspiring speech of the Honourable Principal who made students understand how Yoga helps in discipline of the body and the mind.
Dress Designing Competiton
Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa organised a Dress Designing competition on 12/06/17 Monday, for Std IX students. The topic for the competition was “Best out of Waste”. The students designed dresses from old newspapers which was worth appreciating. The main aim of the competition was to encourage students to work in a team and learn the value of co-operation.

•Tejas was selected for Pune city zone, where he will represent Pune City in further level of competition.
1. Shashwati Bhosale of 9th E got second place in Javelin Throw event of athletics at district level and was selected for Pune Divisions, where she represented Pune and got 3rd place in Javelin throw event which was organized by Pune Athletics Association.
2. She got 1st place in Javelin Throw and 2nd place in Discus Throw event of athletics at district level in Inter school ZP competition organized by Pune Zilla Parishad on 6th October 2016. She is selected for the Pune Zonal where she will represent Pune City in both the events.

Book Review
‘A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.’
A book review is an opinion, summary or scholarly review of an author’s literary work. Book review are considered publicity for a writer. It links a writer directly to an audience of avid book readers who are passionate about literature and eager to spread news of a good book. It tells the audience how great the book is. In the world of promotions, book reviews are a great source to utilize in order to strengthen and bloster your efforts.
On 10th Feb, 2017 our students of std 8th and 9th participated in the book review competition organised by Lokseva e-school, Pashan. A total of 3 groups participated for the competition i.e group 1 9th F, group 2 9th D and group 3 consisting of std 8th students. Our group 1 students of 9th F had presented a book review on ‘Our Moon has blood Clots’ by Rahul Pandita, group 2 i.e 9th D presented a review on ‘A better India A better World’ by Narayan Murthy and group 3 i.e std 8th represented a review on ‘Something happened on the way to Heaven’ by Sudha Murthy.
Out of almost 15 schools and huge number of groups our 9th F students bagged 3rd prize for the competition and were awarded with trophy and certificates. They really performed well and made us proud.

Eco Club
Eco – club play an important role in creating an environmental awareness amongst the future generation. The objectives of this club are:
- To create awareness of biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues among school children.
- To create a clean and green conscience among students through various innovative methods.
- To involve eco club students in open orientation programmes in schools and at public places.
The following activities were conducted in our school for Eco- club during the year 2016-17
- Students made collage paintings on different types of bird’s nest, healthy ocean and healthy life.
- Students cleaned the school garden and planted the twigs of hibiscus, aloe vera etc.
- Students sowed seeds of herb like Coriander, Tulsi, Mustard etc. and observed the growth of plants for a few days by watering them daily.
Investiture Ceremony
“ Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life “.To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of functioning of administrative body, a school cabinet was formed at Sinhgad City School and the investiture Ceremony was held on 24 th June 2016 in the school building.
Principal Mrs. Shweta Sawarkar, was the Chief guest of the function. Supervisor Mrs. Ratna Hariyal, for Primary & Secondary section and Mrs. Anjali Subhand Supervisor of Pre-Primary section joined for the function. Mrs. Vaishali Chhapani anchored the program and welcome the Chief guest. Payal Raut of std X-A from secondary section & Madhavi Tupe of std V-E from Primary section were selected as the Head Girls. Sarthak Parte of std X-C from Secondary section & Parth Raka of std V- E from Primary section were selected as the Head Boys.
Principal madam, the Chief guest of the day gave the Badges and Chords to the Head Girl & Head Boy of the school, Supervisor madam of Pre-primary section gave the badges to the Primary section. Supervisor madam of Secondary & Primary section gave the badges and chord to the Secondary section office bearers.
The Head Girl administered the Oath to the office bearers. Principal madam Congratulated the newly appointed school office bearers to take responsibilities & cautioned them against allowing such responsibilities affect their academics sports teacher Mrs. Shilpa Chillal proposed the vote of thanks and program was concluded.
Elections for Office Bearers
Elections for office bearers were held house wise, where the students of std VII, VIII and IX th voted for their favourite candidates. Fair and transparent elections were conducted under the able supervision of the sports teachers. The students displayed a great sense of discipline. All the students were anxious to know the names of their newly elected captains, vice-captains and sports captains.
Thus the entire procedure reflected a great sense of maturity, sincerity and intrinsic discipline on the part of the students which would eventually help them to become worthy citizens of the biggest democratic country of the world INDIA.
History exhibition
The students enthusiastically participated in the exhibition and exhibited their creativity by preparing exotic charts ,models of Medieval and Modern periods of History. The main attractions of the exhibition were huge models of monuments made by the students.
The Students in-charge assisted the visitors and explained them about the models. Creative games were organized on the basis of historical monuments. Along with the different historical events, the charts put on the walls were very informative. The extra ordinary models like Taj Mahal was prepared by glass bottles, Umedh Bhavan, Bulend Darwaja, Shivneri fort and Ballet Box were the centre of attraction.
All the teachers appreciated the exhibition by writing their feed back,. The Principal of the school Mrs.Shweta Saarkar Madam appreciated each student and their hardwork. She also suggested to preserve the informative charts and models to be further used as teaching aids.
Sports Exhibition
A wonderful exhibition on sports & Physical education was held successfully, where students from secondary section displayed information about various sports with their rules, regulations and diagrams.
A unique display of various sports equipment’s, sports kit and working models of different sports attracted other students of the school; as well as the teaching staff.
All in all this exhibition not only made the students aware of different aspects of sports but also enlightened them to a great understanding on health and fitness.
Science Exhibition
The budding scientists from Primary as well as Secondary sections were very glad to share their creativity and enthusiasm.
All projects with innovative ideas were particularly displayed. Amazing projects on various subjects and hard work on the part of the teachers as well as the students was praise worthy.
Art Exhibition
The Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa conducted Annual School exhibition in the Seminar Hall on 28th and 29th April, 2016.
The children created a spectacular array of paintings depicting the scenic best of the seasons and nature. The SCS team endeavoured to hone the latent creative abilities in each budding artist. The event stood as a platform for young minds to transcend the boundaries of their inherent aesthetic potential.
Thus the visual art work display provided the visitors, teachers and students with a beautiful environment and the means to be in touch with the subject.

A two days workshop for teachers was conducted in the month of July by Mrs.Salma Prabhu, the founder Director of ACE, on ‘Teacher Training for identification and support to students with, LD, ADHD and Behavioral Issues.’
The counseling skills learnt from this workshop will help the teachers to touch many lives by helping children with learning difficulties and parents across with the right guidance, support and mentoring.
Workshop For Teachers
CBSE is known for implementing innovative teaching methodology and in-service teachers training programmes to keep the teachers informed and up-to-date.
Hence, following the instructions of CBSE, our school also conducted a workshop for all the teachers of our school, including Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary section teachers.
On 5th & 6th August and 19th and 20th August, 2 days workshop was conducted by Mrs Kiran Singh, Principal Shiva Valley School Pune and by Mrs Madhulika Bhupatkar, Ex.Principal Gurukul School Pune and Mrs Jayshree Venkatraman, Principal SNBP School.
During the two days session which extended from 9 am to 5 pm each day, the teachers were given a deep understanding and practical knowledge of the topic , “Capacity Building Programme On Classroom Management” by both the eminent resource persons.
The first day commenced with the welcome of the guests by Secondary Section Supervisor Mrs Ratna Haryal and the warm felicitation of the guests by Principal Mrs Anuradha Iyer with a bouquet of flowers.
After the registration and attendance, the objectives of the training program were highlighted and the session started with a soothing and enlightening meditation.
Session 1 continued from 9:15 am to 10:25 am during which the classroom management was discussed and handouts 1A and 1B were solved by the teachers. The freshening element, tea was served during the session and session 2 was utilised for discussing the components of classroom management. In this session Mrs Singh acquainted the teachers with the three types of Content Management -Instruction Management, Physical Environment and Time Management. Content Management – teaching Style was discussed along with the distribution of the handouts. The session was quite informative and interesting.
After lunch the session became more enthusiastic with the advent of the activities conducted, to give the idea of the practical classroom situations.
The situations were not only very well enacted but were also enjoyed a lot by the teachers. The resource persons, then discussed the positive and the negative aspects of the incidents enacted, enhancing the wisdom of the audience. The teachers appreciated the workshop, mentioning that it was not only interesting but also added a lot to their knowledge regarding classroom management, touching the practical aspects, creating the practical situations and solutions to the problems.
“A Heart to Heart Talk” On THE WORLD HEART DAY
On the momentous occasion of the World Heart Day, on 29th September 2016 , Sinhgad City School was graced with the benign presence of Dr Yogesh Gurjar, founder of “Dispomed Incorporate,” centre for developing artificial heart. An alumnus of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and the winner of JRD Tata award for being a first generation entrepreneur in 2005, Dr Yogesh’s workshop for the teachers was a knowledge delight as he enlightened the teachers to the various intricacies of the functionality of the human heart, through his well prepared Power Point Presentation and interesting lecture.
Our Principal, Mrs Shweta Sawarkar Madam welcomed him by bouquet and expressed her gratitude. Mrs Ratna Haryal the Supervisor introduced Dr Yogesh Gurjar, by highlighting his achievements and immense knowledge in the field of function , surgery and manufacturing of artificial heart.
The entire staff of Pre Primary, Primary and Secondary attended the session from 3.00 pm to 5 pm and listened to him spell bound throughout the session. Getting immense knowledge about such an important organ of our body in a short period, was a great experience. The session was highly valued by the teachers and were looking forward to a few more such sessions. At the end of the session Principal ma’am conveyed the vote of thanks and also appreciated our staff member Mr Abhyankar on whose request and efforts , Dr Yogesh had visited us.
Counselling and Orientation Programme
Counselling and Orientation Programme for The Parents of Students of std-IX
In order to resolve the academic, personal and social difficulties of the students and to orient parents regarding the change in affiliation with CBSE Board, an orientation programme was organized for the parents of the students of class IX in the seminar hall scheduled as:
Class IX: Date: 25 th June 2016, Saturday
Time: Div- A, B and C – 8.45 am
Div- D, E and F – 10.45 am
The programme began with a beautiful poem recited by our Principal Madam, emphasising how important it is for the parents and the school to come together for the harmonious development of the students. She also shared the great news of our school’s achievement in getting 100% Result in SSC.
She appreciated the presence of maximum number of parents and emphasised on the need to know the changes in the academic spheres and also emphasised on the role of the parents through a well-made “PPT” by explaining with suitable examples.
The programme was then anchored by Mrs. Joya, describing briefly all about the assessment programme which is scheduled in Term I and II through PPT. She also explained the Open Test Based Assessment (OTBA).
The programme ended with a session by our qualified counsellor Mrs. Naseem Patel, who counselled the parents to form strong bond with children and make them work hard without stress i.e. through proper planning and organization.
The Orientation programme was a great success as it was appreciated by the parents, who eventually gave us tremendous support and pleasure to see their keen interest which reflected through their presence in great number.
Orientation of Std 10 th Parents
An orientation for parents of Std 10 th students was held on in the Seminar hall. The parents were addressed by the Principal of Primary and Secondary school, Mrs. Shweta Sawarkar. She opened the meet with a beautiful poem which stressed on an overall development of a child with the help of parents and teachers. The growth of a child – physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. Keeping this in mind aims to promote ‘Excellence in Education’ in every sense. She was elated with the wonderful 100 % S.S.C result 2015-16.
She guided the parents to keep a check on their ward’s progress and be in touch with the teachers from time to time that shall help in securing such results year after year.
The session was then taken over by the teacher representative, Mrs. Suchitra Sasane who introduced the parents with the new supervisor Mrs. Ratna Hariyal.Ma’am briefly emphasised the importance of day to day studies and positive atmosphere at home. Then the teacher representative guided the parents with the Evaluation Pattern of S.S.C. Board exam where she told the parents the importance of punctuality in submission of assignments, journals, books etc. as the school sends 120 of total 600 marks to the board for orals and practicals.
The last speaker for the day was the School Counsellor, Mrs. Nasreen Patel. She gave few very important tips on ‘Smart Parenting.’ She gave some key practices to the parents during study time like turn off T.V. sets, organize study and homework,eliminate distractions like cellphones and other electronic gadgets.
Thus the session ended successfully.
Career Guidance
An interactive session of Career Guidance was arranged by Venutai Chavan Polytechnic College on 27th Jan.’16 at Sinhgad City School for students of Std X.
The session was conducted by the Principal Mr.A.H.Ekatpure and his staff members. The students were given information about the procedure of admission for diploma after X, the criteria Fee Structure, Scholarship details and document required etc. were discussed.
This session guided the students to channelize themselves in their career ahead.

Teacher’s Support Workshop by University of Cambridge
Teacher’s Support Workshop was conducted on 17th and 18th July’15 from 8.30a.m to 5.30p.m at, ‘The Ambience Hotel’, Shivajinagar, Pune.
Two teachers from Sinhgad City School attended this programme. Mrs.Ruchi Joshi for Primary Section and Mrs.Suchitra Sasane for Secondary Section.
The Main objective of this workshop was to introduce teachersto the Cambridge English key for schools and Preliminary for school exams. This included information about the format of question papers and classroom activities. The workshop focused on the four skills of English Language-Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.
The teachers found it interesting and was beneficial in day to day teaching.

REPORT OF PTA MEETING ( Std II to V )
A meeting was organized for the parents of Sinhgad City School, Kondhwa. It was conducted by the class teachers of various grade levels in their own respective classes. Following are the details of the grades and the meeting timings-
- STD II- 7th Sept, 2016. TIME: 4:00 pm onwards
- STD III- 7th Sept, 2016. TIME: 3:00 pm onwards
- STD IV- 31st Aug, 2016. TIME: 8:00 am onwards
- STD V- 31st Aug, 2016. TIME: 8:45 am onwards
Parents were seated in their wards’ classrooms as per the given time and the meeting commenced as per the scheduled time. The class teacher introduced herself and gave general instructions about her teaching subjects. The following points were discussed in the meeting-
- Appreciation of the efforts of Parents/Students in spite of changes made in the board- CBSE pattern.
- Parents to meet teachers only through prior appointment.
- Reminder- Aadhar card zerox submission of their wards.
- Reminder- Official dues to be cleared.
- Intimation of changed schedule of working days/ office timings.
- Safety measures implemented by the school for students’ safety from the month of July, parents/ visitors were allowed to enter the school campus only with a parent/ visitor pass followed by the entry in the register at the gate at producing a valid I-Card.
- Website – [GEMS] to be visited on regular basis.
- Co-operate and be polite to bus drivers and maushis in front of children.
- Hygiene factors to be considered like uniform, nail, cleanliness and haircut.
- Parents to personally collect their ward’s result.
- Annual Gathering was discussed. Consent forms to be filled and returned.
- Exam paper patterns and timetable for SA1 has been already given.
- Admission forms were given and collected back.
- Bus related problems should be brought to the notice of school management or transport manager.
- At no point of time parents are allowed to take the child during school hours, except in the case of extreme emergency. Application to be provided. Authority letter to be given if parent is not able to come to pick up the child.
- Children should carry the tiffins along with them in the morning. If they forget, parents can give the same in Supervisor’s office along with the note.
This meeting was very useful for the parents as it could solve their queries.
They were also informed about the FA and SA pattern of evaluation. Suggestions from the parents were also welcomed for enhancing the students’ performance.
The meeting was then concluded by the class teacher on a good note thanking the parents for attending the meeting.
